The Rooks County Board of Commissioners met with the following present:  Chairman, John Ruder, and Members Tim Berland and Kayla Hilbrink. Correna Swaney, Deputy Clerk was present to record the minutes.  Virgi Laska was present to write a report for Stockton Sentinel. Ruder called the meeting to order and asked all to stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance

The agenda was accepted as presented.

Butch Post, Emergency Manager, was in to help set up the Zoom meeting with Darin Dutcher from Huber & Associates. Dutcher was to discuss a new website for the county. There was a misunderstanding as to who was going to set up the Zoom meeting so the meeting was rescheduled for two weeks. Post also said that he would be at a KEMA Conference all of next week.

The commissioners reviewed last week minutes and accepted with corrections.

Poore presented an invoice from GIS Specialist for the annual maintenance for $8,500.00. Berland made a motion to approve the maintenance Hilbrink second and Ruder agreed.

The appraiser’s office will pay for the annual agreement. She requested the commissioners pay for the map book update.  Ruder mad a motion to paid $1,300.00 for the map book update out of the commissioners’ fund.  Berland second the motion and Hilbrink agreed.

Berland discussed the 2020 F250 Ford pickup from Keller Motors in Palco. Berland talked with Mr. Keller about the truck and he feels like it is a good deal. Ruder called Mike Klein, Weed Department, to discuss the pickup.  Keller Motors agreed to accept $43,000.00.  Berland made a motion to purchase the 2020 Ford pickup in the amount of $43,000. Ruder second the motion and Hilbrink agreed.

Hilbrink weekly report: She informed the other commissioners of the Heal Grant program that is designed to bring downtown back into productive use as spaces for Housing, childcare, new or expanding businesses. Hilbrink talked with Bob Becker a little on the land bank for the Rooks County. She will get in touch with Becker again for more information.

Berland weekly report: The Ford will work great for Klein.

Ruder weekly report: He asked Hilbrink some questions about the Solomon Valley Manor such as how many employees and how it is being managed.

Hilbrink made a motion to sign the August 29th & 31st minutes. Ruder second the motion and Berland agreed.

With no further business to transact, Hilbrink made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Ruder second the motion and Berland agreed.
