Animal Hospital welcomes new veterinarian

After 38 years of operating the Animal Hospital veterinary clinic in Plainville, owners Armin and Vicki Kelly have announced that they have agreed to sell the practice to Lauren Mack, DVM.  Mack just graduated from Washington State University School of Veterinary Medicine, and said she and Dr. Armin Kelly met each other through the grapevine, and she was soon on her way to Plainville.

Dr. Mack earned a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Maine in Orono.

“Washington provided a lot of opportunity for working with large animals, as well as developing small animal skills,” she said.

Dr. Mack, 26, said she is happy to work on just about everything, large and small.  She loves horses, and cattle–both beef and dairy.

DVMs Mack and Kelly plan to work similar hours during the week, but may alternate working Saturdays.  Mack looks forward to exploring more of the region and meeting people.  She worked during the recent Plainville Saddle Club rodeo, and looks forward to being a part of the community with her lab mix, Bear.
