The Rooks County Board of Commissioners met in special session at the Stockton City Hall at 4:30 pm Wednesday, June 26th to answer questions and work with the Stockton City Commissioners with the pending contract for law enforcement. Those present were the Commissioners: John Ruder, Corky Hagan, and Greg Balthazor; County Attorney, Danielle Muir and Rooks County Sheriff, Gary Knight. Ruthie Muir, Rooks County Clerk was present as well. Representing Stockton City were: Kim Thomas, Mayor; and Commissioners, Don McLauglin, Sandi Rogers, Reesa Brown and Nathan Glendening. Also representing Stockton City were: Courtney Flower, Stockton City Manager; Kayla Hilbrink, Stockton City Assistant Clerk; and Joe Gasper, Stockton City Attorney. Approximately ten (10) persons from the public attended.
Ruder presided over the meeting/work session, and opened the floor to any questions or comments from the public.
After some questions were answered, the City Commissioners asked a few questions. Details were worked out.
The Commissioners let the Stockton City Commissioners know that the County would be holding a special session on Friday, June 28th at 9:00 am. The Stockton City Commissioners will plan to hold their meeting before that and attend the special meeting of the County Commissioners to sign a final draft of the contract.
Wishing to let the Stockton City Commissioners review the contract and discuss the details amongst themselves, Ruder made a motion to adjourn the County Commissioner’s portion of the meeting. Hagan seconded the motion, and Balthazor agreed.
